For nearly a decade, Kanut has been digitising Tallinn City Archive’s collection of parchments. To that end, a complete solution of the digital Linhof Master Digi Repro System and Scanback software has been developed, which has helped to achieve extremely high colour precision and detail in rendering images of objects during 2010-2021. The digitising system enables carrying out the necessary studies to investigate an object without losing detail and making large scale prints of high-quality image files.
Back-up copies stored as high-quality digital files help to mitigate the risk of losing information, should the originals be damaged or destroyed.
